APC Chieftain Alleges Death Threat After Criticising Governor Adeleke

By Erewunmi Peace

A former APC governorship aspirant, Professor Rafiu Durodoye, has claimed that he received death threats after publicly criticising Governor Ademola Adeleke’s educational qualifications and leadership.

Prof. Durodoye stated that the threats came through phone calls and alleged visits by unidentified men to his residence.

Concerned for his safety, he has reportedly petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for protection.

While Prof. Durodoye’s claims have been widely reported in the media, security agencies have not independently confirmed the alleged threats, and no physical attack on the Governor has been linked to these incidents.

The former APC aspirant said the threats have heightened political tension in Osun State ahead of upcoming elections and urged security agencies to ensure the protection of political actors.
