Former President Olusegun Obasanjo met with former Military President General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) in Minna on Monday in a closed-door session, sparking political interest ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Obasanjo arrived via Ahmed Bola Tinubu International Airport and was escorted by Niger State government protocol officials to Babangida’s residence. The meeting, held away from the press, lasted for about 30 minutes.

Neither Obasanjo nor Babangida has publicly disclosed the agenda of the discussion, but political analysts suggest the timing is significant, given the ongoing consultations among key political figures ahead of the 2027 elections.

Observers note that both leaders remain influential voices in national politics, and their private engagements are closely watched by political stakeholders and the media.
