Enugu Police Bust Human Trafficking Ring, Rescue 20-Year-Old Woman

Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have uncovered a suspected human trafficking syndicate and rescued a 20-year-old woman from alleged exploitation.
According to a statement released by the police, the victim was reportedly lured with promises of a lucrative job opportunity in Senegal. Investigations later revealed that the offer was allegedly linked to prostitution and exploitation.
Police authorities confirmed the arrest of a 50-year-old female suspect, identified as Ibekwe Nkiru, in connection with the case.
The arrest followed credible intelligence gathered by operatives, leading to the timely rescue of the victim before she could be trafficked out of the country.
The rescued woman has since been debriefed and reunited with her family, while investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the suspected trafficking network.
The Enugu State Police Command reiterated its commitment to combating human trafficking and urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
