APC Replaces Uzodimma with Masari as Chairman of 2026 National Convention Committee

By Erewunmi Peace

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially replaced Governor Hope Uzodimma with former Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari as the Chairman of its 2026 National Convention Central Coordination Committee. The move comes as the party ramps up preparations for its March 2026 national convention.

According to party sources, Masari, who previously served as Speaker of the House of Representatives, will now lead the committee responsible for overseeing all aspects of the convention. Hope Uzodimma, who was initially appointed as chairman, has been reassigned as Treasurer of the committee.

The APC leadership also expanded the membership of the committee, appointing other key figures to ensure smooth organization and execution of the national convention. The convention, scheduled for March 2026, is a major event for the ruling party as it sets the stage for internal leadership decisions and political alignments ahead of the next general elections.

Party officials described the reshuffle as part of a strategic move to strengthen the committee’s capacity and ensure effective coordination.

Analysts say the reconstitution reflects the party’s commitment to a transparent and well-organized convention process.

The appointment of Masari is expected to bring experience and leadership to the committee, given his extensive political background and prior roles in governance and legislative leadership.
