Tincan Island Customs Hands Over Suspect, ₦4.73 Billion Worth of Drugs to NDLEA

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Tincan Island Port Command, has handed over a suspect and seized narcotics valued at ₦4.73 billion to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in a coordinated effort to combat drug trafficking.

According to the Customs Service, the seizure occurred following the inspection of a 40-foot container, which contained 55 jumbo bags of Cannabis indica and an automatic pistol. The suspect linked to the shipment was immediately arrested.

The handover ceremony emphasized the collaboration between the Customs and NDLEA in tackling drug smuggling and protecting public health and security.

Customs officials also reaffirmed their commitment to intercept illegal shipments entering the country.

This operation reflects the ongoing efforts by Nigerian enforcement agencies to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs and strengthen security at major ports.
