FG Sets Up Panels to Address Health Workers’ Grievances

By Erewunmi Peace

The Federal Government has inaugurated two high-level committees to tackle longstanding grievances within Nigeria’s health sector.

This move comes as part of efforts to improve working conditions, resolve disputes, and ensure better healthcare delivery across the country.

The committees are tasked with addressing concerns raised by health workers, including long working hours, locum engagement issues, and residency certification challenges.

They are expected to produce actionable recommendations that will guide government policy and reduce industrial unrest among healthcare professionals.

The Ministry of Health stated that the panels aim to reform health sector practices, protect worker welfare, and strengthen the overall healthcare system. Reports from the committees are expected within a set timeframe, after which the government will implement measures to address the identified challenges.

This initiative highlights the FG’s commitment to engaging with health workers and ensuring a more sustainable and fair working environment in the country’s medical sector.
