The Federal Government has called on information officers across the country to enhance public trust by communicating government policies and initiatives more effectively.
Speaking at a recent meeting with Resident Information Officers, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, stressed the importance of coordinated, credible, and transparent communication.
He emphasized that information officers play a critical role in bridging the gap between government and the public.
According to the Minister, fostering trust requires consistent, accurate, and clear messaging that aligns with the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He encouraged officers to network, collaborate, and build strong relationships with both the media and communities to ensure that the public receives reliable information.
“Effective communication is not just about sharing information; it is about building confidence and trust in the government,” the Minister said.
The Federal Government reiterated its commitment to improving public engagement, noting that credible information dissemination is key to national development and unity.
Information officers across federal, state, and local levels were urged to adopt modern communication strategies, leverage social media responsibly, and ensure that the public is well-informed about government programs and policies.
