Suspected Hoodlums Place Coffin in Front of Onitsha Main Market HQ

Traders and officials at the Onitsha Main Market were left shocked after suspected hoodlums placed a coffin in front of the market’s administrative headquarters, popularly known as the “White House.”
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday night and is being interpreted by some traders as an intimidation tactic, following recent directives for traders to resume business activities after a temporary closure.
The Chairman of Onitsha Main Market, Chijioke Okpalaugo, has allegedly resigned amid concerns over safety, although this is yet to be independently confirmed by authorities.
Traders have expressed fear about returning to business despite assurances of security from government officials.
The Anambra State Police Command is reportedly investigating the incident to identify the culprits and prevent further threats to market operations.
