Igbinedion University Enforces Mandatory Campus Residency for Students

Igbinedion University has reiterated its policy requiring all students to reside on campus, emphasizing that hostel accommodation is compulsory for the 2025/2026 academic session.
During the matriculation ceremony for over 1,300 new students, Vice-Chancellor Professor Lawrence Ezemonye stated that living on campus is central to promoting a safe, disciplined, and academically focused environment. He stressed that students must comply with the university handbook, which outlines their responsibilities and expected conduct.
Professor Ezemonye added that the policy ensures effective monitoring of student welfare, strengthens discipline, and reinforces the institution’s culture of excellence. The university also encourages students to uphold high standards and maintain behaviours that positively reflect on the institution.
The move underlines Igbinedion University’s commitment to combining academic rigor with a structured campus life, ensuring students benefit fully from the university experience.
