They were apprehended while transporting fifty-one (51) bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, each weighing approximately 9kg.‎‎ According to the statement made by Olusola Ayanlade (The spokesperson of the Ondo Police Command), ‎”Fifty bags of Indian hemp were recovered from two suspected drug dealers by the Nigeria Police Force’s Ondo State Command.”‎‎He added that on June 19, 2025, early in the morning, two suspected drug traffickers were apprehended and detained along Ikare Junction in Owo, Ondo State, by members of the Command’s Tactical Intelligence Response Squad (TIRS), acting on reliable intelligence.‎
