NDLEA Chairman urges citizens to uphold values of character and unity at NMS Class of 1982 anniversary in Abuja.
The Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brigadier General Buba Marwa (rtd), has said that what Nigeria needs most at this critical time are citizens who embody discipline, loyalty, and resilience.
Marwa made this remark in Abuja during the 38th anniversary celebration of the Nigerian Military School (NMS) Class of 1982. He stressed that the values instilled by institutions like NMS remain vital for building the character and unity required to address the nation’s challenges.
He noted that NMS helped shape young boys into men of principle, instilling in them the spirit of brotherhood regardless of differences in language, faith, or family background.
“Character and resilience are the backbone of any nation. For Nigeria to overcome her challenges, we must uphold discipline and loyalty to our country,” Marwa said.
The NDLEA boss also praised the Class of 1982 for producing two service chiefs currently leading the Armed Forces—Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar. He commended the group for their continued contributions to the growth of their alma mater.
The event, held in Abuja, brought together old students of NMS as they reflected on their journey and the role of discipline in personal and national development.
