Ndume Says Tinubu Had Capable Advisers as Lagos Governor Unlike Now

By Erewunmi Peace

Senator Ali Ndume has criticised the current team of advisers to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying they are less capable compared to those who served him when he was governor of Lagos State.

Ndume made the comments during an interview on ARISE Television’s Prime Time programme, highlighting that Tinubu’s success as Lagos governor was partly due to his competent and politically experienced team.

“Tinubu had advisers who were competent and knew the political terrain when he was governor of Lagos, unlike now,” Ndume stated, adding that some of the current advisers lack the experience and grassroots connection needed for effective governance.

The senator also cautioned that sidelining experienced political figures could have consequences for the administration, particularly in northern Nigeria, where he noted there is growing dissatisfaction among some constituents.

Political analysts have noted that Ndume’s comments reflect ongoing debates about governance, advisory capacity, and political management within the Tinubu administration. As of now, the presidency has not issued a response to the senator’s remarks.
