Omisore: Adeleke Can’t Join Osun APC Through Dapo Abiodun

In a political twist stirring conversations across Osun State, former APC National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has firmly stated that Governor Ademola Adeleke cannot join the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun through Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
Omisore, while addressing the press on Tuesday, made it clear that Adeleke’s alleged attempts to penetrate the Osun APC structure via political alliances outside the state would not be entertained.
“Governor Adeleke cannot join the APC in Osun through a backdoor arrangement involving Governor Abiodun,” Omisore asserted. “Osun APC has its leadership, structure, and laid down processes. Anyone wishing to join must begin from the ward level, not through connections from another state.”
This statement comes amid growing rumors of behind-the-scenes discussions between Adeleke and key APC figures in the Southwest, with suggestions that Adeleke may be plotting a defection from the PDP ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial race.
Omisore emphasized that the APC in Osun remains a party of structure and discipline, and would not allow such political maneuvers to override party principles.
The development has sparked mixed reactions from party loyalists and political observers alike. While some welcome the idea of Adeleke switching camps, others, including Omisore, warn against undermining the party’s internal democracy.
Governor Adeleke, currently serving his first term under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has not officially responded to the claims.
As the 2026 election season slowly builds momentum, all eyes remain on Osun politics, with many wondering whether this marks the beginning of a major political realignment in the state.
