Ooni of Ife Renews Diplomatic Passport at NIS HQ, Praises Immigration Reforms

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II), on Wednesday visited the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) headquarters in Abuja to renew his diplomatic passport.

During the visit, the traditional ruler commended ongoing immigration reforms under the Federal Government, particularly initiatives aimed at modernising passport services, improving border management, and enhancing service delivery.

Oba Ogunwusi expressed appreciation for the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji‑Ojo, and the NIS leadership in streamlining operations and strengthening institutional efficiency.

According to the NIS, the Ooni was warmly received by Comptroller‑General Kemi Nandap and members of her management team.

The monarch praised the digitalisation efforts and other measures designed to make passport processing faster and more secure.

Speaking during the visit, the Ooni said, “I am impressed with the progress and commitment of the NIS to improving services and ensuring professionalism. It is important for traditional institutions and government agencies to collaborate for the benefit of Nigerians.”

The visit highlights the Ooni’s continued engagement with federal institutions and his support for government efforts to strengthen governance and public service delivery.
