The publisher and Chief Executive Officer of Premium Times, Mr. Dapo Olorunyomi (OON), is set to deliver the 2025 Faculty of Arts Distinguished Alumni Lecture at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.

According to the university’s Faculty of Arts, the lecture is themed “AI, Social Media, and Democracy” and will explore how emerging technologies are reshaping civic engagement, media responsibility, and democratic governance in Nigeria.

The event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Oduduwa Hall, OAU Campus, starting at 11:00 a.m. It is expected to draw students, academics, journalists, and alumni from across the country.

Mr. Olorunyomi, a veteran investigative journalist and a leading voice in media innovation, graduated from OAU and has received numerous national and international recognitions for his contributions to press freedom and accountability journalism.

In a statement from the Faculty, the lecture aims to “connect alumni success stories with current global challenges,” emphasizing how universities can shape responsible leadership in the digital era.

The 2025 edition continues the university’s tradition of honoring distinguished alumni who have significantly impacted their professional fields and Nigerian society at large.
