Nigerian broadcaster and social commentator Daddy Freeze has opened up about the emotional pain of being separated from his children for over a decade following the collapse of his first marriage.

In a heartfelt conversation on the #WithChude show, the media personality revealed that he has not seen his children in nearly 10 years, describing the experience as one of the most difficult parts of his life.

“I’ve not seen my kids in 10 years. It’s painful. Sometimes, I ask myself, ‘What did I do wrong? Am I such a bad person?’”

Daddy Freeze, whose real name is Ifedayo Olarinde, was previously married before his current relationship with Benedicta Elechi. His first marriage ended several years ago amid controversy, with both parties accusing each other of emotional distress and incompatibility.

In the interview, he explained that mutual stubbornness, communication breakdown, and personal differences contributed to the marriage’s failure.

Despite the separation, he said his greatest regret remains the long absence from his children’s lives, which has left a deep emotional scar.
