Four gospel artistes were found dead inside a music studio in the Abraham Adesanya area of Ajah, Lagos State, in what authorities are describing as a shocking incident.

The deceased include gospel singer Matthew Ogundele, his team member Itunu Ogundele, Joseph Sanya, and blogger Matthew Awosanya (known as Joes TV). They had reportedly been invited to perform at a three-day birthday praise event and stayed overnight at the studio after the session.

The victims were discovered dead the following morning by the studio owner, who immediately alerted the police. Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the bodies showed no visible signs of violence at the scene.

The bodies were taken to Mainland Hospital, Yaba, before being transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Panti, Yaba, for further examination and investigation. Police are yet to release a definitive cause of death.

Friends, colleagues, and members of the gospel community have expressed shock and called for urgent clarity regarding the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Authorities have assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the tragedy.
