Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has approved a major cabinet reshuffle involving the redeployment of several commissioners, the appointment of new ones, and the reorganization of key government agencies across the state.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Abdullahi Garba Faskari, and made available to newsmen in Katsina on Friday.
According to the statement, the shake-up is aimed at enhancing efficiency, improving service delivery, and strengthening the administration’s commitment to good governance and accountability.
Among the changes, the governor approved the creation of a new Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Poverty Alleviation and Social Development, alongside the appointment of new commissioners to fill vacant positions.
Those newly appointed include:
Alhaji Umaru Dandutse – Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Investment
Dr. Rabi’u Musa – Commissioner for Health
Hajiya Halima Binta Idris – Commissioner for Women Affairs
Abdulkadir Nasir – Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development
In addition, some commissioners were redeployed to new ministries to align with the administration’s policy focus. The governor also approved the appointment of new heads of agencies and special advisers to strengthen the implementation of state programs in education, agriculture, and social welfare.
Governor Radda urged the newly appointed officials to see their roles as an opportunity to serve the people of Katsina with dedication, transparency, and innovation. He also emphasized that the reshuffle was designed to “bring new energy into governance and ensure that every ministry delivers on its mandate.”
Political observers say the cabinet shake-up reflects Radda’s drive to accelerate developmental projects across the state as he enters the second year of his administration.
