Oyebanji Names Prof. Andrew Omojola as New BOUESTI Vice Chancellor

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the appointment of Prof. Andrew Babatunde Omojola as the new Vice Chancellor of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI).

The appointment was announced on Monday, November 24, 2025, through an official statement released by the Ekiti State Government. According to the statement, Prof. Omojola’s appointment takes immediate effect.

Prof. Omojola, a distinguished academic and Professor of Animal Science, previously served as the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ibadan. His expertise spans Animal Products, Food Safety, and related agricultural research fields.

He is set to take over from the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Victor Adeoluwa, whose tenure ends on January 6, 2026.

A Career Marked by Academic Excellence

Prof. Omojola is widely recognized for his contributions to agricultural research and university administration. During his time at the University of Ibadan, he led several academic initiatives, supervised numerous postgraduate students, and contributed significantly to academic publications in his field.

Strengthening BOUESTI’s Vision

Governor Oyebanji expressed confidence that the new Vice Chancellor will bring fresh vision to BOUESTI, especially in advancing its mandate of providing high-quality education in science, technology, and vocational studies.

The appointment has been well received within academic circles, with many stakeholders acknowledging Prof. Omojola’s capacity to drive growth and stability within the institution.
