Renowned Nigerian evangelist and founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, Reverend Dr. Uma Ukpai, has passed away at the age of 80.

According to multiple reports confirmed on his official social media page, Rev. Ukpai died on October 6, 2025. The family of the revered preacher also released a statement confirming his passing, describing him as “a faithful servant of God who dedicated his life to evangelism and national transformation.”

Born in Asaga, Ohafia, Abia State, in 1945, Rev. Uma Ukpai was one of Nigeria’s most respected Christian leaders, widely known for his healing crusades, charitable works, and messages of unity and faith. His ministry, which began in the early 1970s, reached audiences across Africa, Europe, and the United States.

Over the decades, he worked closely with other Christian leaders including Pastor E.A. Adeboye, Dr. Paul Enenche, and Bishop David Oyedepo, playing a key role in Nigeria’s evangelical revival movement.

Tributes have continued to pour in from church leaders, government officials, and followers across the country, celebrating his life of faith and service.

Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced soon by the family and the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association.
