Tinubu Hails Audu Ogbeh’s Legacy as Ex-Minister Laid to Rest in Benue

Former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, has been laid to rest in his hometown, Otukpa, Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented at the burial ceremony, paid glowing tributes to the late statesman, describing him as a man of integrity and an unwavering patriot whose contributions to Nigeria’s development would be remembered for generations.

Tinubu lauded Ogbeh’s decades of service in public life, from his role as National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to his tenure as Minister of Agriculture, where he championed policies aimed at boosting local food production and rural development.

In his words, Ogbeh “stood firmly for national unity, agricultural self-sufficiency, and good governance.”

The funeral was attended by top government officials, political leaders, traditional rulers, and members of the community, who all extolled the virtues of the late elder statesman.

Chief Audu Ogbeh, who passed away on August 9, 2025, was 78 years old. He is remembered as an intellectual, politician, and farmer who dedicated much of his life to the service of Nigeria.
