ADC Lacks Strong Leaders With Sense, Says Datti Baba-Ahmed

Former presidential aspirant and politician Datti Baba-Ahmed has criticized the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stating that the party suffers from a lack of strong and capable leadership.
In a recent interview, Baba-Ahmed said that the party’s leadership structure has failed to demonstrate the strategic vision and political acumen necessary to compete effectively in Nigeria’s complex political landscape.
He added that without leaders who possess both experience and sound judgment, the party may struggle to make meaningful progress in upcoming elections.
Baba-Ahmed emphasized the need for visionary leaders who can mobilize support, strengthen internal democracy, and present viable policy alternatives to Nigerians. He warned that continued weak leadership could undermine the party’s relevance and electoral prospects.
The African Democratic Congress, formed in 2005, has positioned itself as an alternative political platform in Nigeria but has faced recurring challenges in building nationwide influence and cohesion among its members.
Baba-Ahmed’s comments have reignited discussions about the importance of leadership quality in smaller political parties and their ability to shape Nigeria’s political future.
