Osun Lawmaker Claims He Included Iwo Central Mosque Renovation in Nigeria’s Budget

By Erewunmi Peace

A member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives representing the Ayedire/Iwo/Ola-Oluwa Federal Constituency, Lukman Kayode Mudasiru, has stated that he successfully included funds for the renovation of the Iwo Central Mosque in Nigeria’s 2025 budget.

Speaking to reporters, Mudasiru explained that the initiative was aimed at supporting community development and preserving religious heritage in Iwo, Osun State. He noted that consultations with traditional leaders and community stakeholders played a key role in the process.

The lawmaker’s claim comes ahead of official confirmation from the National Assembly or budget documents, and at this time, the inclusion of the mosque renovation in the federal budget has not been independently verified by other major news outlets or publicly released budget lines.

Mudasiru called on his constituents to support the project and monitor its implementation once funding is approved and released, adding that he hopes it will serve as a model for community-driven development projects.

Observers say that while lawmakers can propose projects for inclusion in the national budget, approval and actual funding depend on multiple stages of the legislative and executive budget process.
