‘An Open Betrayal’ – Sunday Bisi Hits Oyinlola Over Comments on Adeleke
By Erewunmi Peace
The leadership crisis in Osun State’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has intensified as PDP Chairman Sunday Bisi accused former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola of “an open betrayal and continuation of a failed plot to stop Governor Ademola Adeleke.”
Bisi made the statement following Oyinlola’s comments at a PDP stakeholders’ meeting in Osogbo, where Oyinlola insisted that the PDP remains strong in the state despite Governor Adeleke’s recent defection to the Accord Party.
“This is a continuation of attempts that have already failed. Such moves only undermine party unity,” Bisi said, reaffirming his position as the elected PDP chairman in Osun State.
The PDP chairman also dismissed the legality of the stakeholders’ meeting, calling it an unauthorized attempt to remove him from office.
He emphasized that the party’s structures remain intact under his leadership and warned against political manoeuvres that could weaken the party’s grassroots presence.
Political analysts say the feud highlights internal divisions in the PDP in Osun State, which could influence party strategy and alignment ahead of upcoming political events.
