The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the sum of ₦5 billion to support victims of the recent fire outbreak at the popular Singer Market in Kano.

The donation was announced by Vice President Kashim Shettima, who visited the affected market to sympathize with traders who lost goods and property in the devastating blaze.

According to reports, the fire destroyed hundreds of shops and goods worth billions of naira, leaving many traders stranded and financially distressed. The intervention by the Federal Government is aimed at helping victims rebuild their businesses and restore economic activities in the market.

Speaking during the visit, the Vice President assured the traders of the government’s commitment to supporting small and medium-scale enterprises, especially in times of crisis.

Market leaders and affected traders expressed gratitude for the swift response and financial assistance, describing it as a major relief effort.
