Ribadu Challenges El-Rufai to Submit Evidence of Toxic ChemicalProcurement to DSS

By Erewunmi Peace

The Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) has responded to claims by former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai regarding the alleged procurement of a toxic chemical, urging him to provide evidence to the Department of State Services (DSS).

El-Rufai recently alleged that the NSA’s office may have procured about 10 kg of thallium sulphate, a highly toxic substance, reportedly from a supplier in Poland. He demanded full clarification and transparency over the matter.

In a firm response, the NSA’s office, led by Nuhu Ribadu, denied the allegation and stated that the matter has been referred to the DSS for investigation. Ribadu further challenged El-Rufai to submit any evidence he possesses directly to the DSS to ensure a proper inquiry.

The dispute highlights ongoing concerns about security protocols and the handling of potentially hazardous substances in Nigeria. Both parties have emphasized the need for transparency, while authorities continue to investigate the claims.
