The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intercepted suspected cocaine valued at approximately ₦1 billion along the Badagry–Seme border corridor in Lagos State.

According to reports, Customs operatives discovered 22 packages of suspected cocaine concealed inside a Toyota Highlander. The illicit substances were reportedly hidden in a specially constructed compartment beneath the vehicle’s axle in an attempt to evade detection.

The interception occurred during routine border surveillance operations. One suspect was arrested in connection with the seizure.

Following the discovery, the seized drugs and the vehicle were handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and forensic examination.

Officials emphasized that the operation reflects ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and other cross-border crimes along the Seme border axis.

The Nigeria Customs Service reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening border security and collaborating with relevant agencies to curb the inflow and movement of illegal substances into the country.
