At least 20 people have reportedly been killed following an ambush on a joint security patrol in Plateau State, according to local sources and community leaders.

The attack was said to have occurred in the Wanka area of Kanam Local Government Area, where armed assailants allegedly targeted a patrol team made up of security personnel and local vigilantes.

Reports indicate that the patrol team was conducting a routine security operation when the attackers ambushed them, leading to a deadly confrontation.
