President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the official posting of 65 Nigerian ambassadors and high commissioners to different countries and international organizations, ending months of diplomatic vacancies.

The ambassadors had earlier been screened and confirmed by the Nigerian Senate in late 2025 before receiving their country assignments this week.
According to reports, the list includes 31 career diplomats and 34 political appointees, reflecting a mix of professional foreign service officers and political nominees.

Some of the notable appointments include:

• Femi Fani‑Kayode – Germany
• Reno Omokri – Mexico
• Mahmood Yakubu – Qatar
• Ita Enang – South Africa

Diplomatic experts say these countries are considered strategic postings because of their economic, political, and international influence.
