Trump Announces $10 Billion U.S. Pledge to Newly Formed “Board of Peace” Initiative

By Erewunmi Peace

United States President Donald Trump announced a $10 billion U.S. pledge to the newly established “Board of Peace”, an international initiative aimed at post-conflict recovery and reconstruction, with an initial focus on Gaza.

The announcement was made at the Board of Peace’s inaugural meeting in Washington, D.C., attended by representatives from multiple countries. The initiative aims to coordinate global support for rebuilding war-torn regions, providing humanitarian aid, and promoting long-term peace.

Other nations attending the meeting pledged a combined total of $7 billion, though the full funding required for reconstruction efforts remains higher. While the U.S. pledge has been announced publicly, it is not yet formally approved or allocated by Congress.

The Board of Peace plans to begin operations immediately, focusing on aid coordination, infrastructure rebuilding, and fostering sustainable peace initiatives. Further updates are expected as member nations finalize contributions and implementation plans.
