In a major political event in Ekiti State, Governor Biodun Oyebanji and former Governor Ayodele Fayose appealed to residents to support President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid. The rally, which drew a large turnout, highlighted the collaboration between political figures across party lines.

At the event, several members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) reportedly defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The APC described this as a demonstration of growing support ahead of the upcoming elections.
Speaking to the crowd, Fayose encouraged Ekiti voters to actively participate in the political process and consider Tinubu’s track record and vision for the country.

Governor Oyebanji also emphasized unity and cooperation in strengthening the state’s role in the national political landscape.

Political analysts say such defections and endorsements are part of broader strategies to consolidate support ahead of the 2027 presidential elections, which remain a key focus for all major parties.

The APC in Ekiti welcomed the new members, stating that their inclusion will help broaden the party’s base and deepen engagement with local communities.
