Tracking Records Reveal Suspected Kidnapper ‘Small’ Communicated With Ebonyi Officials Before Engineers’ Disappearance

A report by Sahara Reporters states that a suspected kidnapper known as “Small” communicated with individuals linked to officials in Ebonyi State before the disappearance of two engineers associated with the Nigerian Electricity Liability Management Company (NELAN).
According to Sahara Reporters, tracking records show that the suspect had phone contact with some individuals believed to be connected to officials in Ebonyi State prior to the engineers going missing.
The report describes “Small” as a suspected kidnapper who has since died. It further states that the communications occurred shortly before the disappearance of the engineers, raising questions about possible connections surrounding the incident.
As of this report, the Nigerian Police, the Ebonyi State Government, and the Federal Ministry of Works have not issued any official statement regarding the matter. Officials linked to the case have also not publicly responded.
The disappearance of the engineers has drawn attention to security concerns in parts of the country, particularly regarding the safety of professionals working on infrastructure and energy projects.
