Teachers Refuse to Resume Classes in Kwara Communities After Principal Killed; Schools Shut Indefinitely

Teachers in parts of Kwara State have reportedly refused to resume classes following a deadly attack by suspected terrorists that claimed the life of a school principal.
The incident, which occurred in communities within Kaiama Local Government Area, has heightened fear among residents and education workers, leading to the indefinite closure of some schools in the affected areas.
Local sources revealed that the attackers stormed the community, causing multiple casualties and destruction of property.
Among those reportedly killed was a school principal, a development that has deeply shaken the education sector in the area.
Following the attack, teachers expressed concerns over their safety and declined to return to classrooms until adequate security measures are put in place.
Security agencies have since been deployed to the affected communities, while the Kwara State Government is said to be monitoring the situation closely.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities have not announced a specific date for the reopening of the affected schools.
