By Erewunmi Peace
The Federal Government (FG) has arraigned Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Mike Ozekhome and Ponfa Useni, son of the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Jeremiah Useni, over alleged forgery in a property dispute in the United Kingdom.
The arraignment took place on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the FCT High Court in Maitama, Abuja, before Justice Chizoba Oji.
Details of the Charges
The defendants face 12 counts including:
- Forgery
- Impersonation
- Conspiracy
- Unlawful control of a UK property
The offences allegedly involve the use of false documents, including a forged Nigerian international passport, to support claims in a London property dispute.
Both Ozekhome and Ponfa Useni pleaded not guilty.
The court granted them ₦10 million bail each, with conditions requiring the deposit of their passports and the provision of two sureties who own property in the FCT.
The Federal Government had filed fresh charges earlier this week, linking the defendants to the alleged forgery in connection with the UK property dispute.
The case has drawn national attention due to the prominence of the individuals involved and the cross-border nature of the allegations.
