President Bola Tinubu has nominated Taiwo Oyedele as the new Minister of State for Finance, replacing Doris Anite-Uzoka.

According to official communication sent to the Nigerian Senate, the nomination is subject to confirmation by lawmakers. Doris Anite-Uzoka has been reassigned to serve as Minister of State in the Ministry of Budget and National Planning.

The announcement has generated public discussion online, with some reports linking the reshuffle to allegations of a “missing” ₦1.15 trillion raised during a budget hearing. However, there has been no official statement from the Presidency confirming that the cabinet adjustment is connected to those claims.

As of now, the Presidency has only confirmed the nomination and redeployment as part of ongoing administrative changes.

Observers say the development signals continued restructuring within the economic management team as the administration pursues fiscal reforms.
