There are emerging reports of a disagreement within the Apapa Local Government administration in Lagos State following claims that the council chairman rejected a list of supervisory councillors allegedly forwarded by political leaders in the state.

Sources familiar with the development say the list, which reportedly included nominees for supervisory positions and the office of the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), was sent to several local government chairmen for approval and swearing-in.

While other local government councils are said to have accepted and sworn in their nominees, the Apapa Local Government chairman reportedly declined to approve some of the names, raising concerns about political interference in the selection process.

Unconfirmed reports also claim that the chairman conducted a swearing-in ceremony for a different set of nominees late at night, a move that has sparked conversations within political circles in Lagos.
