Nigerian Arrested in Sierra Leone Over Drug Trafficking

Authorities in Sierra Leone have arrested a Nigerian national for alleged drug trafficking at Freetown International Airport.

The suspect, identified as Patrick Nonso, was reportedly found carrying 46 wraps of a white substance suspected to be cocaine during a routine security screening. Nonso, who was traveling with an Italian passport, was immediately taken into police custody.

Officials confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, with authorities seeking to determine the origin of the narcotics and whether other individuals are involved in the trafficking network.

This arrest highlights the continued efforts by Sierra Leonean authorities to curb drug trafficking and ensure airport security.

Patrick Nonso is currently cooperating with investigators as legal proceedings continue.
