CJN Kekere-Ekun to Inaugurate New Supreme Court Justice

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, is set to inaugurate a newly appointed Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in Abuja.
According to official reports, the swearing-in ceremony will take place at the Supreme Court complex and marks another step in strengthening the country’s apex court following recent judicial retirements.
The newly appointed justice, Joseph Olubunmi Kayode Oyewole, was elevated from the Court of Appeal after being recommended by the National Judicial Council (NJC) and approved by the appropriate authorities.
Justice Oyewole is a seasoned jurist with years of experience in the Nigerian judiciary and has served in various capacities before his elevation to the Supreme Court bench.
The inauguration is expected to boost the manpower of the apex court and enhance the speedy delivery of justice in Nigeria.
The Supreme Court has, in recent times, faced a reduced number of justices due to statutory retirements, making new appointments critical to its effective functioning.
