Tinubu Approves Fresh Military Hardware as Troops Intensify Anti-Terror Operations

By Erewunmi Peace

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the acquisition of additional military hardware to strengthen Nigeria’s fight against terrorism and insecurity across the country.
The approval followed a high-level security meeting between the president and top military officials, including the Nigerian Armed Forces leadership in Abuja.

Speaking after the meeting, the Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, said the president was briefed on the current security situation, including recent attacks on military formations and ongoing counter-terrorism operations.

According to him, the newly approved military equipment will strengthen troops’ operational capacity as security forces intensify efforts to combat terrorist groups and armed bandits in several parts of the country.

Nigeria’s security forces are currently engaged in operations against insurgent groups such as Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province, particularly in the North-East region.

Security officials noted that the additional hardware will help improve intelligence gathering, mobility, and firepower for troops operating in challenging environments.

The federal government reiterated its commitment to supporting the military with the necessary resources to restore peace and stability across Nigeria.
