Residents of communities in Benue State have raised concerns over the reported movement of suspected armed herders across parts of the state, sparking fear and tension among locals.

According to reports from affected communities in Guma and Logo Local Government Areas, groups of unidentified armed men were allegedly sighted moving through farmlands and residential areas. Some residents claim the individuals were not accompanied by cattle, increasing suspicion and anxiety within the communities.

Local sources say the development has heightened security concerns, particularly among farmers who fear possible attacks or destruction of crops.

Community leaders have reportedly called on security agencies to intensify surveillance and provide protection to prevent any breakdown of law and order.

The issue was also reported by Vanguard News, which cited residents describing the situation as worrisome and urging the government to act swiftly.
