The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Anthony Okon Placid as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) of the Nigeria Police Force.

Placid replaces Benjamin Hundeyin, who previously served as the police spokesperson and played a key role in communicating the activities of the force to the public.

The appointment was announced in a statement issued by the Force Headquarters in Abuja. According to the statement, the new spokesperson is expected to strengthen communication between the Nigeria Police Force and members of the public.

DCP Anthony Placid is an experienced officer with several years of service in the police force. He has held various operational and administrative positions and has participated in international peacekeeping missions.

Police authorities said the appointment is part of ongoing efforts to improve transparency, professionalism, and public engagement within the force.

The Nigeria Police Force added that Placid will be responsible for coordinating official communications, addressing media inquiries, and providing updates on police operations across the country.
