Ex‑Lagos Governor Fashola Appointed to Board of RTSL Nigeria

Former Lagos State Governor and Minister of Works & Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Resolve to Save Lives Nigeria (RTSL Nigeria), an international public health non-profit focused on preventing cardiovascular diseases and epidemics.
The announcement was made on July 18, 2025, by RTSL Nigeria’s Abuja office. Dr. Tom Frieden, President and CEO of the organization, expressed enthusiasm, noting Fashola’s extensive public service background and invaluable leadership during the 2014 Ebola crisis .
Fashola’s track record includes:
Two terms as Governor of Lagos State (2007–2015)
Service as Minister of Power, Works & Housing (2015–2023)
Key involvement in containing Nigeria’s 2014 Ebola outbreak
Recipient of the International Crisis Group’s Stephen J. Solarz Award for crisis management
On accepting the appointment, Fashola said he was honored and eager to contribute to RTSL Nigeria’s mission of reducing preventable deaths caused by heart disease and epidemics .
