A UK medical tribunal has struck off a Nigerian dietitian, Ifeyinwa Chizube Ndulue-Nonso, from professional practice after finding her guilty of serious misconduct, including falsifying qualifications and demonstrating inadequate professional knowledge.

The decision was made by the Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service (HCPTS) following a formal hearing into her conduct and fitness to practice.

According to the tribunal, the dietitian provided misleading information about her qualifications and professional experience in order to secure employment within the UK healthcare system.

During the proceedings, the panel also identified significant gaps in her medical knowledge, raising concerns about her ability to safely carry out her duties.

In one instance highlighted during the hearing, she reportedly made an incorrect statement regarding basic human anatomy, which further underscored the tribunal’s concerns about her competence.

The tribunal concluded that her actions were both dishonest and potentially dangerous to patients. It ruled that allowing her to continue practicing would undermine public trust in the profession and pose a risk to healthcare standards.

As a result, the panel determined that removal from the professional register was the most appropriate sanction.

The case highlights the importance of honesty, competence, and adherence to professional standards in the healthcare sector. Regulatory bodies in the UK maintain strict guidelines to ensure that only qualified and capable professionals are allowed to practice.
