Police Rescue Two, Arrest Three in Oyo Cocoa Research Institute Kidnap Incident

Security operatives have rescued two victims and arrested three suspects following a kidnapping incident at the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN) in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The incident reportedly occurred when armed men abducted individuals believed to be cocoa farmers within the premises of the institute. The attack triggered a swift response from security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, Amotekun Corps, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and local vigilante groups.
According to authorities, two of the kidnapped victims have been successfully rescued, while three suspects have been apprehended in connection with the crime. Efforts are ongoing to track down other members of the gang and ensure the safety of any remaining victims.
The police assured the public that investigations are underway and that all those involved in the incident will be brought to justice. Security presence in the area has also been reinforced to prevent further attacks.
The Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria is a major agricultural research facility, and the incident has raised fresh concerns about security in farming communities and research environments across the country.
