Soludo Appoints 39-Year-Old Nnake as First Female SSG in Anambra

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has appointed Chiamaka Nnake as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), making her the first woman to hold the position in the state’s history.
Nnake, 39, brings years of experience in public finance and economic planning to the role. Prior to her appointment, she served as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning in the state.
Her appointment was confirmed in an official statement from the state government, as part of efforts to strengthen governance and enhance administrative efficiency.
Before joining public service, Nnake worked as a strategy consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where she gained significant experience in financial advisory and policy development.
Observers have described her emergence as a milestone for gender inclusion and youth representation in governance, noting that her appointment reflects a growing trend of involving more women in leadership positions.
