The Nigeria Police Force has recorded a major breakthrough in its fight against banditry, following the arrest of 32 suspected criminals during coordinated operations in forest areas of Kwara State.

The security operation targeted criminal hideouts across communities including Kaiama, Patigi, Gbugbu, and Tsaraji, where armed groups were reported to be operating. During the raids, police operatives recovered a number of weapons, including rifles, ammunition, and communication devices believed to have been used by the suspects.

Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, visited Kaiama to assess the operation and commend officers for their efforts. He reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to intensify operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks and restoring security in affected areas.

According to police authorities, preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects are linked to organized criminal groups that have been using forest locations as bases for illegal activities.

The operation is part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to combat banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of violent crime, particularly in forested regions known to harbor criminal elements.

Residents have been encouraged to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely information that could assist in sustaining peace and safety across the state.
