Residents of Oro-Ago community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State were thrown into panic after armed bandits invaded the area late Monday evening.

According to local sources, the attackers stormed the community, firing sporadically and forcing residents to flee their homes in fear. The incident caused widespread panic as villagers ran for safety while the gunmen moved through parts of the town.

Security operatives, including police officers, soldiers, and local vigilante groups, quickly mobilized to confront the attackers. After a brief confrontation, the joint security team successfully repelled the bandits and forced them to retreat from the community.

Although the attack created fear among residents, security operatives were able to prevent the situation from escalating further.

Residents who fled during the attack later began returning to their homes after security forces secured the area.

The Oro-Ago axis of Ifelodun Local Government Area has recently experienced a rise in security challenges, including bandit attacks and kidnappings, raising concerns among community leaders and residents.

Authorities have assured the public that security patrols in the area will be strengthened to prevent future attacks and ensure the safety of residents.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing, and security agencies are working to track down the attackers.
