ICPC Tracks 64 Federal Projects Worth ₦21.6 Billion in Sokoto

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has commenced tracking of 64 federal projects valued at approximately ₦21.6 billion in Sokoto State as part of its nationwide anti-corruption monitoring initiative.
Scope of the Tracking Exercise
The exercise, part of Phase 8 of the Constituency and Executive Projects Tracking (CEPT) programme, covers projects executed by 14 federal agencies across sectors including:
- Health
- Education
- Water supply
- Agriculture
- Electrification
- Special intervention projects
- Preliminary Findings
The ICPC team, led by Aminu Bala, has already inspected several project sites, including Kalambaina, Gwuiwa, Mabera, and Mana communities, identifying instances where contractors were not fully compliant with project specifications. Contractors have been instructed to return to their sites and rectify deficiencies.
Objective and Impact
The monitoring exercise aims to ensure transparency, proper utilization of federal funds, and timely completion of public projects.
ICPC officials emphasized that regular inspections and accountability measures will help minimize corruption and maximize the impact of government investments in local communities.
Next Steps
