The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (US-DEA) have renewed their commitment to combating drug trafficking and dismantling the financial networks that fuel organized crime, terrorism, and violent extremism in Nigeria.

The pledge was made during a strategic workshop in Abuja on Tuesday, led by NDLEA Chairman Buba Marwa and US-DEA Country Attaché Daphne Morrison, according to agency spokesperson Femi Babafemi.

Both agencies emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation, focusing not only on arresting traffickers but also targeting the financial channels that sustain drug operations and criminal networks.

The collaboration underscores the growing recognition that drug trafficking is closely linked to terrorism financing, and that joint efforts are essential to protect communities and strengthen security across the region.
