The Osun State Police Command has arrested 14 additional suspects in connection with the recent attack on police officers during the ongoing boundary dispute between the Erin-Osun and Ilobu communities.

The latest arrests bring the total number of suspects in custody to 18, following earlier reports of initial detentions linked to the violent incident.

According to police authorities, the suspects include community chiefs and residents allegedly involved in the clash, which escalated tensions in the affected areas. The attack on security personnel reportedly occurred during efforts to restore peace and maintain order amid the long-standing boundary disagreement.

Security operatives also recovered weapons from the suspects, including firearms and cutlasses, as investigations continue.

The police have assured residents that efforts are ongoing to apprehend other individuals connected to the incident and to prevent further breakdown of law and order.

The Erin-Osun and Ilobu boundary dispute has been a recurring source of tension over the years, occasionally leading to violent confrontations and destruction of property.

Authorities have urged community leaders and residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies while peaceful resolutions are being pursued.

As of the time of filing this report, normalcy is gradually returning to the affected communities, although security presence remains heightened.
